Mascara Madness

I made this chart to help compare mascaras. As you can see my lashes need alot of help. I've tried alot of mascaras.. I did all these in an hour or so. That's they are kind of messy.. I should probably do them over. But this chart gives you a general idea! I forgot to do side view for the WNW mascaras. :O Click on the images for full size view!

Beauty Bargain: Cupcake Cult Eye Shadow Primer

I know its late but I absolutely must share some wonderful news to on-a-budget makeup junkies like myself!

Does your eyeshadow fade after a couple of hours? Minutes? Seconds? Are your colors dull and blah-looking? Is UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion) out of reach or just too darn expensive for you?

Good news: I have an alternative! Hot Topic has their very own line of cosmetics, called Cupcake Cult. And within this wonderful cosmetic line they have a cream eyeshadow primer base. Just apply this to your lids all over (I use my fingers to smooth it out) and make sure you blend it and smooth it out well. I say this because it is pink and shimmery; if you don't smooth it out, it will just look like pink eyeshadow. (By the way, it makes an awesome pink shimmer eyeshadow that lasts all day if you want to use it by itself.) On your lids, it will look pinkish, but once you apply your eyeshadow, you won't notice. I reccommend applying a neutral, close-to-your-skin colored eyeshadow to cover up any excessive pinkness. This helps cover blood veins anyway. Then apply your shadow as usual. And voila! You have beautiful eyelids with colors that are vibrant and will last all day!

This product is really a steal for $3.99, considering what it does. I've used UDPP and I personally prefer the Cupcake Cult primer. UDPP did make my shadows last somewhat, but the colors were dull by the end of the day. With the Cupcake Cult primer, my colors were vibrant from when I put them on at 6am until 9pm when I washed my makeup off. The only thing about the cupcake primer is that after a long day, you might notice a little creasing, but not much. Not enough to ruin your look! When I notice creasing, I just smooth it out with my finger. Tada! Its good as new. =)

Now, its time to show this stuff in action. Below are photos I have taken throughout the day to show how well the primer works! These should convince you! ;]

first applied at 9am

much later, at 8pm

into the early morning at 1am

I give Cupcake Cult Eyeshadow Primer 5 out of 5 bees!! I promise, I will have some cute little bee graphic to show my ratings soon. =)

get ready.
